Access to clean water and proper sanitation is essential for every child’s health, dignity, and learning environment.
With support from Friends from Florida and the Souter Foundation, Media Matters for Women officially handed over a newly constructed borehole and toilet facility to Cambridge High School in Mabassor Village, Bombali District.
During the handover ceremony, our Executive Director, Florence Sesay, encouraged the pupils to take good care of the facilities and continue practicing proper hygiene to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project for the entire school and community.
The proprietor, school authorities, pupils, and members of the community expressed their excitement and appreciation for the support while committing themselves to maintaining the facilities for future generations.
This intervention forms part of Media Matters for Women’s broader commitment to supporting quality education, girl child protection, and community wellbeing through programmes such as the Period Power Project (PPP) and Voices Against the Blade FGM campaign being implemented in schools across Bombali, Kenema, and Western Area Rural Districts.
Through our programmes, we remain committed to creating safer, healthier, and more empowering learning environments for children and young people in underserved communities.
