Wamama Tujenge with Julienne Lusenge (Podcast 1_ Part 2) Democratic Republic of Congo _ French

A new and original audio podcast called “Wamama Tujenge,” hosted by celebrated human rights activist Julienne Lusenge, will be broadcast this in November 2017, reaching over 20 million listeners across the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Julienne Lusenge conducts interviews and makes connections about the immense changes in women’s lives and how grassroots organizations are steering that change for the benefit of all. She addresses the big questions surrounding the many successful grassroots movements in the DRC which are making change happen: What are their motivations, their actions, and their ideas? Julienne Lusenge sees solutions to key problems being applied by women across DRC and asks the critical question: Can others do the same? She ends each podcast envisioning the future women are pursuing. The partner organizations behind the Wamama Tujenge project are the Fund for Congolese Women, Women@TheTable, Media Matters for Women International, and Kandindi Studios. The audio podcasts are twenty minutes long and separated into two parts so that they can easily be stored on basic cellphones and shared via Bluetooth. The first two podcasts are available in French, Swahili, and Lingala. They will be broadcast by a new MMW network of Listening Centers as well as the Hirondelle Reseau Congo network of community radio stations with a broadcast reach of up to 24 million listeners.
