Zainab Sheriff

SENIOR JOURNALIST, EASTERN PROVINCE

Zainab Sheriff is our senior journalist based in Kenema, in the Eastern Province.

Zainab was selected in 2023 as a Fellow by the Journalism Centre on Global Trafficking in conjunction with the University of Georgia. She gained her Teacher’s Certificate at the Eastern Polytechnic University in Kenema and has been a reporter for Gola Agricultural Radio Station since 2016. Zainab speaks Mende, Krio, and English.

Zainab goes above and beyond in her work as a journalist and mediates in cases of rape and violence against women in areas throughout the Eastern region. She successfully negotiated with Chiefs in the Kenema District to return land owned by women.
